MediaTek Build a R&D Centre in Hefei

On the afternoon
of November 18, 2013, the signing ceremony of MediaTek (Hefei) R&D center &
car chip program was held at the Civil Center in Hefei. Wu Cunrong, Member of
the Standing Committee of Anhui Province and Sectary of Hefei Municipal Committee
attended the ceremony and met with Cai Mingjie, President of MediaTek before
the ceremony.
On the meeting, Wu
Cunrong stated that Hefei has premium investment environment and MediaTek is a
wording leading IC design company. Wu Cunrong hopes MediaTek could enlarge its
investment in the future and introduce more companies to locate in Hefei. Lin
Yun, Vice Sectary of Hefei Municipal Committee, Yang Sisong, Sectary-General of
Hefei Municipal Committee, officers from other government department and Tao
Hong, President of HFSID were present in the meeting. Kong Xiangyang, Deputy
Director of Hefei Municipal People’s Congress presided over the signing
ceremony and an opening remark was delivered by Cai Mingjie.
MediaTek (Hefei) Inc.
which is opened in 2003 is MediaTek’s first subsidiary in the mainland of
China. Under the contract, MediaTek will invest 500 Million yuan in Hefei and
adopt 40nm process to research car chips. Bseides, a new marketing center and
R&D center will be built in the future. This signing ceremony will play an
important role for Hefei in promoting the development Hefei’s IC industry and
completing Hefei car industry chain.
